Every great product starts with great material. We source only certified stainless steel – Grade 304 (A2), Grade 316 (A4), and Duplex 2205 – from trusted mills with full traceability.

Why this matters: The grade you choose determines how your hardware performs in the field. 316 stainless steel, with its molybdenum content, offers superior resistance to salt spray and chlorides – making it the only sensible choice for coastal villas and poolside installations.

Most of our glass spigots begin as wax patterns, created from precision CAD drawings or 3D files. These patterns are dipped in ceramic slurry to form a shell, then heated to melt out the wax – leaving a perfect negative mould.

Molten stainless steel is poured into the shell at over 1000°C, filling every cavity with exacting precision. After cooling and solidification, the ceramic shell is removed, revealing a near‑net‑shape casting ready for finishing.

Why we use investment casting: It allows us to produce complex geometries that would be impossible – or prohibitively expensive – through forging or machining alone.

The casting is just the beginning. Every Railing‑O spigot then moves to our CNC machining centre, where we drill, tap, mill, and turn critical surfaces to exacting tolerances.

Surface finish isn’t just about looks – it’s about performance. We offer three standard finishes, each with distinct advantages:

Passivation – a chemical treatment that removes surface contaminants and restores the chromium‑rich oxide layer – is applied to every stainless steel product. This step is non‑negotiable: it’s what gives 316 stainless steel its legendary corrosion resistance.

Before any product leaves our factory, it undergoes a multi‑point inspection:

• Dimensional inspection – every critical measurement verified
• Surface finish inspection – visual and tactile quality check
• Salt spray testing – ISO 9227 certified, guaranteeing 480+ hours without red rust
• Load testing – verified to meet EN 1991‑1‑1 standards (1.5 kN/m to 3.0 kN/m)

We provide EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates, passivation reports, and salt‑spray test documentation with every commercial order.
